WIPW: Work-In-Progress Wednesday

It's been a few weeks. I've been a very bad blogger these past few months. I'm sorry. But that doesn't mean I haven't been crocheting! The first thing i'm working on is the towel toppers that my grandmother used to make. After Christmas last year, I went and picked up about 24 of these towels to make for the family. My grandmother always handed them out as gifts for everyone, and I said I would do that as well. I'm only about half done.

The next thing i'm working on is taking apart the crochet along blanket I was making. I decided to take it apart straight from the blanket into these squares. I have the idea in my head on what i'm going to do with them... I just can't seem to make it work. Maybe after the holidays.

More things? Of course! I get very bored working on just one project at a time. My mother bought this yarn and asked me to make a scarf for my nephew. To be honest, I have yet to find a crochet scarf pattern that I actually like that is manly for my 8 year old nephew. So, I decided to knit it. I really like this pattern, I just wish it wasn't so slow.

And last but not least, I am making an afghan for my 13 year old niece. Hence the bold colors. This is going to be a super simple quick throw that is similar to the "V" stitch throw. It has rows of "V" stitch, and rows and just plain double crochet. So it'll be different, just still quick and easy! I hope she likes it. If there's time I'm also going to make her a pair of slippers to go with it.

And that's it. I'm mainly working on the last two right now... although I should get working on more of the towel toppers. I figure I have a month! And I can usually get 4 done in a night. I have time. :)

Crochet Along

I've been working hard on my CAL project. And this past week, I've been trying to figure out what went wrong with it. It's all messed up, and twisted and I do not like it at all!

Both ends are so off, it isn't funny. I tried to fix it, but nothing works. So. I hate to say this, but i'm throwing in the towel!! It didn't sound like many people were actually doing this project anyways. I don't think any followers, and maybe only a small handful on ravelry. On November 30th I'll still showcase anyone who has finished this project, but mine will not be on there. I am so not happy with it at all. I'm going to unravel the yarn and make granny squares.

Is anyone else working on this project? What do you think so far? Has anyone run into this problem as well?

You can always check in on the ravelry page as well!

Year of Scraps!

I was late on Septembers year of scraps, and now here I am late on Octobers as well! So, how much was added this month, to be honest... not much.

Circular Ripple Blanket

It has been over a month since I last posted! I am sorry!! This time of the year I am always quite busy.

So here we are. I've only been working on two projects this past month. One is the baby blanket for my friend. I really liked the way the circular ripple turned out! But you wouldn't believe the number of people who asked what it was, and when I told them it was a blanket their first remarks were "Wow, you have a lot more to go!". My husband even thought it was a tablecloth. LOL

It's a perfect size for a car carrier, or just to snuggle the baby up in. Small so it doesn't drag everywhere, but big enough for what matters.

The pattern I used came from here. But to be honest, I didn't like it. This is how I modified it.
